This winter season has been full of wedding celebrations, holiday gatherings, family reunions, and food! Amidst all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I was to excited to be able to connect with Chelsea and Thomas for their Desert Engagement photos! You would think that for this sweet couple, the change in weather from back east to AZ would be a welcomed gift during their time here. But as luck would have it, this particular week was one of the coldest, and I mean COLDEST weeks we had all year! Thankfully, the chilly temps did not prevent these two from enjoying a few hours in the sun while we documented their engagement!

I asked Chelsea to tell me a little bit about how Thomas proposed:

“Thomas and I had talked about wanting to get engaged and I had already gone and looked at rings, but I had no idea when it was actually coming! Thomas wanted to make sure it was a complete surprise and knew if we did a beach weekend with just the two of us or a weekend getaway I would catch on. Thomas got in touch with one of my best friends in Richmond to plan a girls dinner night. Thomas had told me he had gone away fishing for the weekend and was staying the night. I assumed that Saturday night was going to be just my friend and I for a girls evening. My friend Kate and I were walking back from dinner and stopped by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts right by my house. The museum was one of our favorite spots to go to for happy hour on Friday nights. A few seconds later Thomas popped out with my dog, Jax! I honestly blacked out and was confused for a second because my brain could not process what was happening! Thomas proposed with Jax right by his side, and I of course said yes! He had brought with him the sweetest dog cookies that said “will you marry me” but Jax ate them before he could pop the question! We ended up going out with his family and a few close friends later that evening to celebrate.”

Congratulations you two, I can not wait to celebrate your wedding day later on this year! Cheers!
