I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by! It seems like just yesterday that we documented Steven & Emma’s Arizona Desert Engagement that you can find HERE. Now they are finally married! Ahhh! I can’t even contain my excitement because I just adore this sweet couple! Their love for each other and for life is contagious and their easy-going demeanor makes being with them feel like a vacation from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As a quick little recap, I asked Emma to share how Steven proposed:
“July 17, 2016 at sunset in Kona, Hawaii Steven proposed to me! My family, Steven, and I had original plans for a family vacation in Italy that summer. When plans to connect with the rest of our families fell through my parents surprised us with a change of plans- Hawaii! Little did I know Steven had asked for my dad’s approval to marry me in February earlier that year. Steven asked him during one of their routine mountain bike rides. Being a daddy’s girl this meant so much to my dad and I. Steven proposed to me on our second day of the vacation in front of my family. Steven now tells me he informed my family he was going to propose the morning of July, 17th. One thing that stood out to me was my sister kept saying “Emma, let’s get cute tonight and take sissy pics” (something we are known to do often). Once it was nearly sunset and my brother was cooking up a fancy dinner for all of us- my sister and I started to get ready. The funny part was both my sister and mom were just sitting on my bed staring at me with googly eyes while I was the only one doing my makeup/hair and I was listening to them try to instruct me on what to wear. Although I had no clue what was about to go down, they were being pretty funny about it!
Steven begun taking our photos outside on the lanai, overlooking the ocean. The rest is slightly a blur, Steven and my sister suddenly switched places, my family was all outside and watching as Steven got down on one knee. I was stunned and speechless!… and then came the YESsSs! I loved being to spend the rest of the vacation together, as a newly engaged couple. :)”
Congratulations on your marriage! You know, I could not have been more honored to document your first moments as husband and wife, and can not wait to see all the adventures that the two of you will share together!
